For decades, Eiffage Génie Civil has been building many large underground projects. Our engineers, geotechnicians and site teams work hand in hand throughout the construction of a structure.

Join the teams of Eiffage Génie Civil, a subsidiary of Eiffage, the European leader in construction and concessions, and join the approximately 70,000 men and women who make up the Group.

  • Eiffage Génie Civil: who are we?

Eiffage Génie Civil's teams are involved from design to construction, but also in maintenance and servicing, on many structures in France and abroad.

Over the years, we have built up solid references - from the Millau viaduct to the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, including the construction of the A65 motorway and the largest wastewater treatment plant in Europe in Achères. We have contributed to the construction of the entire high-speed rail network in France, up to the complete construction of the Brittany - Pays de la Loire high-speed line linking Le Mans to Rennes.

Mobilized on all the country's structuring projects - Grand Paris, the Euralpin Lyon-Turin tunnel, the future Ariane 6 launch site... - our teams are also called upon abroad, on the HS2 high-speed rail line in England as well as on numerous land and maritime operations in Africa, Canada and Colombia.

  • Why join Eiffage Génie Civil?

    • Safety: protecting our teams and the people living near our construction sites is our priority objective. To achieve this, many actions are deployed: awareness campaigns, training, security audits, ¼ hour of security.
    • Training: training is a key factor for success. The Eiffage University, the pillar of our system, provides our employees with career and professional development.
    • Employee share ownership of the company : employees have been present in the company's capital for nearly 30 years. Employee share ownership is at the heart of the Group's identity and reflects our desire to cultivate a strong sense of belonging, to involve employees in the success of all our projects and to share with them the benefits of growth
    • Expertise: joining Eiffage Génie Civil's Underground Works teams also means joining a company that has very good references in this field, such as the Channel tunnels, Perpignan-Figueras, the A86 Duplex, Paris metro lines 12 and 14, Eole - the RER line E -, Violay, Monaco, Le Chat, Le Siaix, Chambon...
  • What are the jobs we are looking for ?

  • What profiles are being sought?

Whether you are a beginner or experienced, a graduate or a self-taught person, Eiffage Génie Civil is always looking for new talent!

  • What projects in "Grand Paris" were won by Eiffage?

Through the "Grand Paris" worksites, Eiffage is involved in the development of the future Paris Region public transport network. The project of the century is also about employment!

    • Line 15 South - Lot T2B. Located in the Val-de-Marne, this lot, built in a consortium with Razel-Bec, includes the digging of 7.2 km of tunnel and the construction of three stations: Saint-Maur - Créteil, Champigny Centre and Bry-Villiers-Champigny.
    • Line 16 - Batch 1. This lot, sometimes called the Olympic Line, includes the digging of 19 kilometres of tunnel, the creation of 5 stations (Saint-Denis Pleyel, Stade de France, La Courneuve Six-Routes, Le Bourget RER and Le Blanc-Mesnil) and 21 ancillary works, as well as the laying of tracks and catenaries. It will allow the connection with line 14 and the construction of the first kilometres of lines 17 and 15 East.
    • Line 14 South. 4 kilometres of tunnel and 3 stations (Chevilly Trois-Communes, MIN Porte de Thiais and Pont de Rungis) are on the programme of this lot, executed in a consortium with Razel-Bec (representative).
    • Extension of Eole - RER Line E. The worksite, carried out in a consortium with Bouygues (representative) and Razel-Bec, includes 6.1 km of tunnel and the construction of a station under the Maillot gate.
  • What is "underground work"?

While the first underground works concerned mountain structures, today, everywhere in France and throughout the world, the basements are used for road, motorway or rail tunnels, but also for many public transport networks as well as for storm sewers, electricity networks or landfill facilities...

There are two types of digging methods. The so-called traditional/conventional method, i.e. with explosives or spot attacks; and excavation with a tunnel boring machine. Preliminary geotechnical studies make it possible to choose the method, depending on the nature of the subsoils encountered. Regardless of the method used, teams of engineers, miners and skilled workers are required in the construction of the structures.

Given the large number of projects launched or in preparation, particularly in Ile-de-France, in this field, the Underground Works activity is the flagship activity of public works for the next 10 years in France.
