These very specific maritime works are a long tradition in the Eiffage Group, for international large projects with Eiffage Génie Civil Marine and in France with Eiffage Travaux Maritimes et Fluviaux (ETMF)
Eiffage extended its expertise in the maritime sector by acquiring Saipem’s Maritime Works Business Line in late 2017. The incorporation of this entity – that has been exposed to complex integrated projects within a major Oil & Gas EPC Contractor and with over 45 years of extensive worldwide experience, designing and building all types of marine civil works – clearly demonstrates Eiffage’s determination to position itself on large marine civil works projects with high technical content, across the globe.
This acquisition allowed to give birth to Eiffage Génie Civil Marine, an entity gathering the technical skills of a reputed international marine contractor and Eiffage’s values for responsible development throughout self-performance.
On a worldwide basis, Eiffage Génie Civil Marine targets terminals and full port developments (container, bulk, RoRo or cruise), marine infrastructures for oil and gas and mining industries, marine urban developments and shore protection projects.

Eiffage Génie Civil Marine as leader of a consortium, signed in february 2019 with BP the EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) contract for the Hub/Terminal for BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim Field Development Phase 1, a major offshore LNG project located on the maritime border of Mauritania and Senegal.
The near-shore Hub/Terminal marine infrastructure is encompassing berthing facilities for a permanently moored FLNG, the loading of LNG Carriers, and an offshore breakwater to shelter those facilities.
The 21 concrete caissons (16 500 t each), forming the breakwater will be built by Eiffage in Dakar (Senegal). In addition, the 2.5 million tons of quarry materials required for the underwater rubble mound for the caissons bed will be produced, transported and loaded for installation from Mauritania.
